I've been wanting to personalize my christmas tree for quite some years now and today I have finally been inspired. I found my inspiration on MarthaStewart.com. Its very easy and fun. All you need is...
1. Holiday cookie cutters 2. Find a print you like such as the sheet music (newspaper or pages from old books would do great also). Wrap the cookie cutter with this print of your choice. It is best to use fast drying clear glue the adheres to metal. 3. Pictures (here is a photo of my grandparents at the beach during their dating years, circa 1930's). Print and size the photos according to the size and shape of the cookie cutter. Printing on regular paper will do! Glue around edges of cookie cutter and place on photo. Once dry take an exacto knife or razor blaze and trim around outer shape of cookie cutter so all that is left is the photo inside 4. Last find some ribbon, create a loop and glue it to the top of the ornament.
I am so excited to do more of these with various shapes and various photos old and new!

Spudnuts = donut holes. This is my grandmothers recipe and they are a treat! I think they are called Spudnuts because they take on an alien shape all their own. These are the perfect goodies for cozy holiday mornings with coffee and coco. Enjoy!
*1/3 cup Sugar
*1/2 cup Milk
*1 egg
*2 tsp melted shortening
*1 1/2 cups Flour
*1 tsp baking powder
*1/2 tsp salt & 1/2 tsp vanilla
*1/2 tsp nutmeg (make the nutmeg a fat 1/2 tsp)
Mix all together. Drop in hot vegetable oil at 365 degrees until golden brown. Use strainer to pull out of oil and onto paper towel. Immediately roll in cinnamon and sugar while warm. This make roughly a dozen donuts. I recommend doubling the recipe because they go fast!
