Inspired by luxe candles that I have recently seen at all my favorite boutiques, I decided to make my own at a fraction of the cost. The first photo are of odds and ends I picked up from the Goodwill for $3-$5. I knew you could buy candle making kits, so I went to Michael's Craft store and saw that they have a whole isle dedicated to such a thing. I thought it was going to be super messy and dangerous working with all that hot wax. Not until I saw a soy wax kit in which you microwave the wax ($12 for 1 lb. of wax). Thats it! Thats all! Melt the wax in the microwave and pour into your desired holders. Take that $60 candle!

Oooh and soy is environmentally friendly! These are super cute. I'm a freak and I've been saving the wax remnants of some of my favorite candles with the intention of melting them into new containers...but I think I'll have to do it in a double boiler or something.
